The inauspicious beginning of my musical career

My sister Lindsey (that’s her at the bottom of the photo, enjoying experiencing my performance) recently found this old photo, taken in our back garden when I was about three years old. So that would be 1972, the year of Fragile, Machine Head, For the Roses and Paul Simon’s first solo album.

  1. Now we know where the wearing shorts while playing guitar/singing started…

  2. Didn’t “Fragile” come out in 1971? Great photo in any case!

  3. 1972 was also the year of “Exile on Main St.”, “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders of Mars”, “Harvest” and “Pink Moon”. What a year!

  4. You’re right, Dalek Caan: 1872 was in fact the year of Close to the Edge, not Fragile. (Which if anything may be even better!)

  5. 1872, eh? Wow! Yes have been together for a really long time. (Just kidding. I knew what you meant.)
