I’ve been going along to Mitcheldean Folk Club in the last few months. And it turns out I got involved just in time for the first ever Mitcheldean Folk Festival, which will be held on 18th-20th July 2014, but mostly on Saturday 19th.
On the Saturday evening, there’s a concert in the Brewery Tap from 6 til 10:30. I have a half-hour slot from 6:50. I’ve done enough short sets now to have a good sense of which songs bring people along with me, so I’ll be singing songs like Strawberry Fields, America, Waterloo Sunset, You’ve Got a Friend, Ride On and (oddly, but it always gets a good reception) Soldier of Fortune. And probably finishing with A Day in the Life.
But I won’t be singing Marrakesh Express that evening, for a reason that I will explain in the next post.
