Covering letter

1978-1981: Played for Grange Athletic U-11s, U-12s and U-13s in a local Sunday league. 1982: Moved to Herts U-14s in the same league, due to lack of first-team football at Grange. 1982: Bishop's Stortford Boys' High School "B" Team. 1987-1989: Warwick University's Christian Union Team. 1992-present: Play for Drummond Rovers (church team) in the McCabe Travel South London Christian League, Second Division.

And then the very next day:

Dear Mr. Taylor, Regretfully I have to inform you that you do not appear to have the required professional qualifications to undertake the position.

Oh, well. I tried.

    Bizarrely I have a photo of Sue the currant Mrs Eckersley standing next to the man who become Everton manager Mr Moyes. Would have loved to gave you a reference.
